Drying

Process Systems and Drying techniques are well known in the oil-field, gas and petro-chemical industries.

The object of the many drying techniques is to remove all free water, residual water adhered to the system pipe wall and that contained within the environment of the system.
An early method was to employ methanol to take the water into solution but this method does not meet the demanding specification for today's high tech chemical products or for gaseous systems. In addition to leaving water on the system walls and within the system environment, methanol is not an environmentally or user friendly product.
Great care needs to be employed with methanol in handling and disposal.
