Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), has just awarded a major contract to our Middle East Subsidiary, A.Hak Industrial Services, Middle East, L.L.C. This new award is a 5 years contract which consists of de-oiling, cleaning and inspecting 116 non-piggable oil pipelines using our UT Piglet in the major fields of ZAKUM and UMM SHAIF, located offshore Abu Dhabi. ADMA-OPCO is one of the National Oil Company located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and the project awarded is part of a major subsea integrity campaign ADMA-OPCO is aiming to carry in the coming years. This project will be a big challenge for us and ADMA-OPCO due to the number of non-piggable pipelines without water source for pigging and even bigger as ADMA-OPCO is looking to achieve this contract within a period of 3 years maximum. The execution of the contract will require 2 independent pigging teams for each field, alongside 2 independent pumping spreads to allow work in parallel and to achieve ADMA-OPCO Inspection target for this year. These pipelines don’t have any permanent pig traps, which will implicate fabrication, supply and installation of temporary pigging equipment by our teams in order to carry the activities. Assistance will be provided by ADMA-OPCO by using 1 vessel and 1 jack-up barge to install the pumping spread. Vast majority of these pipelines don’t have any water source available for our pigging operations. A.Hak Industrial Services, Middle East, has been very active in the past 8 years in the same field of activities for ADMA-OPCO and other local Oil Companies. We are looking in some sizable investment in the region and further, to provide wide services to other major players not only in the UAE but also in the whole GCC countries. More staff in the Middle East will be hired to cope with the needs of this big project, as well as other projects already in hand in the region

Friday 2nd of May 2008On the 27th of February A. Hak Industrial Services was called out to a real emergency at an industrial plant in Antwerp, Belgium. The reason for that was a leakage of Ethylene in a pipeline which caused danger. In order to control this situation the medium had to be displaced first which can be done by bringing in Nitrogen. After that critical operation repair of the pipeline leakage started. This event was highlighted by the Belgian broadcast companies ATV/VRT on their news edition. By a special contract A. Hak is always standby with the right equipment and skilled personnel for several companies in the area between Rotterdam-Botlek, Geleen and Antwerp (B) in order to help controlling and preventing such emergency cases to escalate.
