A. Hak Industrial Services
As part of the A. Hak group, A. Hak Industrial Services B.V. was established in 1988 and provides a range of specialised industrial, pipeline and inspection services to the (petro)chemical, refining and pipeline industries, during the whole plant lifecycle.
The company’s origin is from one of the worlds largest and most respected Nitrogen Service Companies, UCISCO, a division of Praxair.
The headquarter of A. Hak Industrial Services is in Tricht, which is the centre of the Netherlands making it a perfect location to serve the major industrial areas of the Benelux and the UK. From our bases in Germany, France, Italy and Spain we are able to provide equipment and trained local personnel for our European customers.
Together with our bases in Brasil, the USA, UAE , South Africa and about 25 professional agents we have secured global presence for serving the industry world-wide.
Our staff consists of a highly experienced team of technicians and (inspection)engineers, sales and marketing engineers as well as supportive and facilitating personnel. HQ in the Netherlands also provides global support to all our divisions and ragents.
The company mainly operates through 3 disciplines:
Industrial Services - a broad range of nitrogen related services, including reactor cooling, nitrogen/helium leak detection, system purging, furnace cleaning and chemical cleaning.
Pipeline Services - cleaning, drying, pre-, de-, and commissioning of pipelines.
Inspection Services - a full package around in-line inspection of non-piggable pipelines ranging from quick scans, pre-engineering, mechanical works and mechanical cleaning to gauging, caliper running, inspecting, reporting and consulting.
European leader in pipeline & process services for pre-commissioning, commissioning, de-commissioning and shutdown stages through a broad range of nitrogen related services like reactor cooling, leak detecting, system purging, drying etc. but also through additional services like cleaning, pigging and testing.
Pipelines have been laid worldwide for some 100-years now, and more often than not, once operational, they are left without any planned maintenance and the internal condition of these pipelines remains unknown. The normal management approach has been to prioritise on a failure consequence basis, effecting the maintenance and inspection options.
Usage of intelligent pig inspection systems enhanced the perspective on the integrity of pipelines enormously.
Unfortunately, not all pipelines can be inspected using intelligent pig technology, due to the pipelines origin. At the time the pipelines were laid, pigging and inspection services were not thought of. Pipes were laid to transport the product and how the pipeline was constructed was of minor importance. This meant that the majority of these pipelines were built without launching/receiving facilities, consist of varying diameters, mitred bends etc. which made normal pigging techniques impossible and as such, classified these pipelines: NON PIGGABLE.
Estimates even go up to 70% or 80% of all pipelines in use, worldwide, being non piggable and by that the industry faces a great challenge!
However, continious development within A.Hak industrial Services Inspection Dept. made it possible to inspect the majority of “non-piggable” pipeline sections.
